Finally found a great soul food spot that’s not PH Bistro. It’s a hot box inside, but they have a pretty extensive menu and the food is not salty and great. Only dropping a star because, it’s far from EXPRESS! My wait time standing in line was 45 min - 1 hr. Maybe some strategizing around that matter may be beneficial.

If you're ever in the mood for Sunday dinner at Grandma's house, this is your place! Prices are fair. People are always pleasant, and food tastes like a visit to my grandparents' house on a Sunday after church, in the 80's!

The Soul Food Express is a soul food restaurant. There is no dine in seating available, so you must get your order to go. The staff was hospitable. The food is ready when they open the doors, but they do fry the chicken fresh. The food is okay. My Smothered Turkey Wings lacked seasoning. The Sweet potato pie was a disappointment. The Barbecue Pigfeet was delicious, even my daughters ate them up. I am willing to give Soul Express another try.

So today September 17 @11:18am I called just to ask a simple question and the person that answered the phone was rude I never eaten there before so the menu was just a little confusing but I just wanted to be sure that the oxtails meal was $20 or was it $20 for them and $5 for the sides but anyways she was just sooo rude that I said thank you and she hung up in my face and I said well I won’t be eating there! I love soul food and new restaurants.. someone needs to get auntie or grandma off the phone

I didn’t like their food at all. I called them after getting my food delivered. I was mad about paying so much money for a meal that had mostly rice 🍚 in it…. Hardly any chitterlings. They said it was nothing they could do about it. 🤦🏾‍♀️

Thus place is not owned by previous owner and it is now called flavva. Food is not hot warmed from fridge and looks like someone lives there. Absolutely ran down from old owner I don't know what is going on with the place now DO NOT EAT HERE. WATCHED HER PULL FOODS FROM FRIDGE TO WARM UP in microwave To PUT IN FOOD TRAYS ABSOLUTELY NOT 👎🏽

If you like soul food or are curious about soul food this is the place. Unfortunately you will have to take everything togo but there is a lot to choose from. BBQ ribs baked and fried chicken BBQ chicken pig feet smother pork smothered turkey College greens string bean okra and tomatoes potato salad macaroni and cheese cornbread dressing. Also various desserts even whole pies.
